Copy on select

Drag, or
double-click.

When you finish selecting text, Hi Copy presses ⌘C for you. A small "copied" bubble rises over the cursor, so you know it worked.

  • Works in any app: drag over text, or double-click a word
  • No bubble when nothing was selected, because nothing was copied
  • Stays out of Finder, where ⌘C would copy the files, and out of password fields

Clipboard history

Everything you copy,
one keystroke away.

⌘⇧V opens the history over whatever you're in, without taking you out of it. Type to search, ↩ puts the clip back on your clipboard.

  • Selected or ⌘C'd, every text clip is kept
  • The last 200, newest first, without duplicates: copy something again and it moves back to the top
  • Floats over full-screen apps, on every Space

Private by design

Your clipboard stays here.

The history is a file on your Mac. No account, no cloud, no sync.

01
One file, on this Mac

Kept in ~/Library/Application Support/HiCopy/history.json. It never leaves the Mac.

02
Passwords skipped

Copies that password managers mark as concealed or temporary never make it into the history.

03
Hands off secure fields

Copy on select never fires in a password field. Clear the whole history from the menu bar anytime.

Keyboard first

Find it, paste it.
